As a department of municipal government in charge of cultural and art undertakings,  Ganzhou Municipal Cultural Bureau is responsible for literal arts, cultural relics, film distribution and exhibition, social culture, library and museum.
Principal functions:

 To carry out the policies of party and state on culture and arts, to work out the development strategy and planning of cultural undertakings.

To manage literary, arts undertakings, guiding cultural system reforming, artistic creation, supporting representative, demonstrative and experimental arts, pushing forward the development of all kinds of arts.
To draft the planning and policy of the development of cultural industry, to implement the construction of municipal key cultural infrastructure and manage it.
To manage cultural market with studying the development trend of it and guiding and supervising the inspection and the film distribution and exhibition, to be responsible for the wholesale, retail, rent, exhibition and import of audiovisual products.
To guide and manage social cultural and library, to draft different kinds of development planning of social cultural industry.

To manage cultural relics and museum, to draft development planning of cultural relics and museum and concerning regulations.

To administrate the cultural exchange with Hongkong and Macao SAR as well as Taiwan Region, to guide the cultural art exchange of Ganzhou City.

To guide the art education work and the training of specialists in cultural arts, library material and cultural relics museum, to be responsible for the research of work of this fields.
To undertake other things distributed by municipal government
