Ganzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice, as one of component organs of the Ganzhou Municipal Government, is in charge of administration of municipal justice concerning execution of criminal punishment, direction and supervision of re-education-through-labor, legal service, justice evaluation and dissemination of common legal knowledge.
Principal Functions
To implement national guidelines, policies, laws and regulations concerning the justice administration; to draft municipal implementation methods and regulations concerning the justice administration in Ganzhou City; to work out medium and long-term plans and annual priorities in justice administration and supervising their implementations;
To make plans for legal publicity and dissemination of common legal knowledge and organize their implementation; to direct works of governance based on law in Ganzhou City and legal news and foreign legal publicity.
To direct and supervise the practice of local lawyers and legal advisers, institutions of legal aids and municipal lawyers' association.
To direct and supervise institutions of public notarization and their relevant operations.
 To direct the work of people's mediation, justice administration assistants, grass-root justice administration offices and grass-root legal services; to organize and direct the replacement and instruction work of those who have finished their sentences.
 To direct, supervise and manage the municipal legal aid work.
To direct the citywide work of legal education.
To participate in the drafting of relevant local regulations; to organize and direct researches of legal theories; to direct and manage professional legal associations; to manage the operations of Ganzhou Law Association.
 To direct and administer the planning of financial affairs as well as guns, ammunitions, uniforms, vehicles and other materials and equipment of the municipal justice administration.
 To direct and supervise the operations of justice evaluation opening up to the whole society.
 To organize, direct and supervise the implementation of unified national judicial examination in Ganzhou.
 To direct the personnel training and development of the municipal justice administration system; to manage the personnel affairs in the Bureau itself and its directly affiliated institutions; to assist towns and countries to manage senior officials of local departments of justice.
To undertake other tasks assigned by the Ganzhou Municipal Government and Jiangxi Provincial Department of Justice.
