Ganzhou  Municipal Bureau of Labor and Social Security is the department of Ganzhou Municipal Government which is in charge of administration of municipal labor and social security undertakings, mainly including labor force management, labor relationship readjustment, urban and rural employment and reemployment and social insurance management.
Principal Functions Include:
 According to the basic national guidelines and policies for Labor and social insurance, and the general national program for reforming the social insurance system, to formulate municipal labor and social insurance development program and annual working plan, and organize the implementation thereof.
To take charge of the administrative supervision work concerning labor and social insurance, exercise the labor and social insurance supervision and inspection authorities on behalf of the municipal government; to undertake supervision over employees and employers' implementation of labor and social insurance laws, regulations and administrative rules; to establish and undertake local labor and social insurance supervision and inspection system.
To draft the basic municipal policies and measures to promote employment in urban and rural areas; to draft the program and policies with regard to the lay-off and redeployment of the retrenched workers from the SOEs (State-Owned Enterprises), their basic subsistence guarantee and reemployment, organize the implementation of reemployment program; to manage job agencies, to organize employment service concerning vocation introducing, labor affair acting, profession training, unemployment insurance, labor service companies and labor exporting; to manage and guide the labor market to function properly, and organize the labor resources to flow orderly and be allocated properly.
To manage the municipal development work of vocational skill; to take charge of the evaluation work of vocational skill, and the management work of vocational qualification certificates; to organize vocational skill competitions, and implement labor preparation system; to manage job training and vocational training agencies funded by social resources; to formulate programs concerning on-the-job training for enterprise workers, reemployment training for the unemployed and the laid-off workers of SOEs.
 To manage the work of labor relations adjustment and labor dispute settlement; to carry out the labor contract system comprehensively and manage the labor contract and collective contract system; to organize identifying work of injuries on job and labor capabilities and transacting work of certificates; to implement the national system for enterprise employees' working time, rest, vocation as well as special labor protection policies for female workers and adolescent workers; to take charge of policy placement and deployment of labor; participate in the evaluation and selection of national and provincial enterprise model workers.
 To carry out macro-controls and measures concerning the wages and other labor income of the whole city's enterprise employees; to manage and supervise the total wages of state-owned enterprise, work out and implement enterprise wage income regulatory policies and employees' lowest income policies; to manage and supervise enterprise wage funds;
To manage the municipal social insurance cause and social security organizations; to work out plans for social insurance reform, draft concrete measures concerning the collection, payment, management and operation of social insurance funds; to verify the budget and final accounts of social insurance funds; to implement administrative supervision on the management of social insurance funds.
To draft certification standards concerning the qualification of agencies undertaking supplementary old-age and supplementary medical insurance in government organizations, institutions and enterprises; to certify the qualification of the relevant agencies which undertake the business of supplementary insurance.
To take charge of statistical and information work concerning municipal labor and social insurance and the organization of labor and social insurance information network construction; to regularly publicize the statistical bulletins, statistical information and data concerning labor and social insurance and forecast the development trends; to carry out scientific research concerning labor and social insurance.
 To undertake other tasks assigned by the Ganzhou Municipal Government.
